History

Our roots go back to 1947, when the Group for the Reconstruction of the Borovnica - Postojna Railway Line was organized as Railway Construction Company No. 5 with headquarters in “Zelena jama”. Today's company originates from two predecessors, the Railway Construction Company and the Company for the Reconstruction of Lines, which were established in the 1950s and merged in 1972. Various reorganizations dictated by legislation and changed market conditions required the company to be transformed several times and in its current form it has been operating as a joint-stock company since 1998.
 
In 1998, we founded the subsidiary company “Kamnolom Verd d.o.o.” together with major construction companies, to ensure an adequate raw material base. Since 2021, the company is in our ownership.
